Wheelie Love You

This is my entry for The Cat's Pajamas challenge. Only requirements were to use purple, green and grey. Sounded simple enough and then I started to over think it. I don't have any TCP Halloween stamps (hard to believe, isn't it). Then I finally decided to quit focusing on Halloween and just color. I love this little bunny--he is always on the move, going places--this time he is on a cute bike with a basket full of flowers. I colored the image with copies and then cut it out with a Nestabilities die and then layered it onto another. I added just a little sparkle to his bike tires and seat with a spica pen. I glued the gathered ribbon (it is a lot more purple IRL than the pic shows) down and then added some butterflies to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by, have a great weekend!

Forget About the Cake

I made this band for a pillow box using the Forget About the Cake set from The Cat's Pajamas. I used TCP Challenge 177, only requirement was to make a seam binding rose. I had never made one before and didn't have any seam binding on hand, but I followed the video using some ribbon and am quite happy with the final result. The sentiment was included in the set. I used some patterned paper from Happy Day pad...love the colors! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Teacher Thank You

I know most teachers get thank you gifts at the end of the school year; but my youngest daughter has been blessed with a couple of extraordinary teachers. These two teachers have spent a lot of their free time working with my daughter on a speech, their efforts were above and beyond what I could ever ask, teachers like that (especially at the high school level) need to be reminded of how much we appreciate them.
I just wanted something simple and not too childish, so I made a simple candy holder. (If you would like instructions, please send me an e-mail.)

I decorated this one with a layered flower from a Sizzix die cut. Then I punched some holes, added some eyelets and tied it closed with some twine from The Cat's Pajamas.

I decorated the outside of this one with flowers I cut with the same die, topped with some buttons that I found laying on my desk. The grass was cut with a Martha Stewart punch and then sponged with green ink.

This is a close up of the flowers. In no time at all I had two gifts to let two very special teachers know how glad we are to have them!
Thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Cute Little Mummy

This little monster is another one of the dollar stamps I picked up at Michael's a couple of weeks ago.  I stamped him and then embossed him in White Filigree from Paper Trey Ink. The orange layer was cut with a Nestabilities die. I ran the green cardstock through my crimper to add some texture.

I finished it off with some glittered black tulle and a button tied with some baker's twine. Another cute and simple Halloween card, best part is that other than the stamp, I had all the other materials on hand! Love it when it comes together so easily.
Have a great weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Fly Me to the Moon...again

Between a weekend full of baseball (Way to go PHILLIES!!!), football, and our wedding anniversary I did manage to get some stamping done. This is one of my favorite stamp sets from The Cat's Pajamas. I just love that bunny! I paper pieced his balloon and then colored the rest of the image with copics. I added some chalk for the sky. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Sunshine pad. I added some machine stitching and then used the cloud cut up die from The Cat's Pajamas. I added some sponging to the clouds--the white was a little stark.

For the inside I used more of the clouds and added one of the sentiments from the set.
Have a great week! Thanks for looking!

Cute Little Witch

I can't believe Halloween is just around the corner! Halloween is one of my favorite holiday's to make cards and favors for. I love all the pumpkins, ghosts and ghouls and of course cute little witches too.
I found this little cutie in the dollar bin at Michael's! Isn't she adorable? I colored her with copies and then layered the image onto some solid green card stock. I added a layer of black tulle and then finished it off with some purple glittered ribbon.
Had a hard time getting a decent picture, but hope you get the idea.

Bestest Friend

This is my card for last week's TCP challenge. This sketch had me stumped for a while--did you notice that I said last week's challenge?! I finally came up with this and I am very happy with the final result. I actually cut three separate layers of the grass to add some dimension. Love the new October Afternoon Campfire paper pad! I added the sentiment across the top to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Angel

Yep, you read that title correctly. This is one of my first Christmas cards this year. The image is from Lili of the Valley. I bought this stamp last year and had intended to use it for my Christmas cards, but I just couldn't get the coloring right. I came across the stamp a few days ago and decided to give it another try. I went very nontraditional with the colors, but I love the final result. I colored the image with copics and added a little sparkle to the angels' wings and halo. I used a Nestabilities die to cut out the image and the green cardstock. The patterned paper is some old My Mind's Eye. I finished it off with a little bit of tulle layered with a couple of buttons from my stash. One down...fifty to go!!! (And just in case you're keeping track, only one hundred ten days until Christmas!)

Fly Me to the Moon

This is the last framed art project I made for my daughter's new room. (Please forgive the picture quality) I used another stamp from The Cat's Pajamas, this one is called Away We Go. That little bunny sure does get around, doesn't he? I colored him with copics and then used sponged on some blue chalk to mimic the sky. I used some patterned paper from my stash and layered the sentiment onto a scalloped rectangle die from Spellbinders.
Think my daughter will get a smile when she spots this in her room.
Thanks so much for looking!

Pedal to the Metal

As soon as I saw the sentiment I knew I had to have this stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas! The set is called Wheel Love and I have to say I wheelie love the little bunny on his bike. I made this to go in my daughter's library. I kept to the same colors as she has in the room; purple, green and black. I colored the image with copics and then highlighted the flowers and bike with spica glitter pens. I stamped the sentiment onto white cardstock and then double layered it. The finished project looks great, tucked into one of the bookshelves. A little reminder to my daughter not to take life too seriously and that her Mom is thinking of her.

Bibliotheca

You probably read the title of this post and thought what the heck is bibliotheca and what does it have to do with crafting. Long story short, bibliotheca is the Latin word for library. In my post yesterday I explained that we spent some time this summer updating my teenage daughter's playroom into a library. My daughter loves to write, poems, short stories, fan fiction, you name it she can write it. Most days you can find her at her desk in the library with her headphones on, plucking away at the keyboard. If she isn't writing, she is reading and critiquing others' work.
She took Latin in high school last year--good idea for a writer--and guess what the Latin word for library is? Wait for it--yep, bibliotheca! See, now it is all starting to make sense!
Anyways, I used some vinyl Thickers letters for the word and then colored Betty the Bookworm from Stamping Bella with copics and spica glitter pens. I used some purple chalk around the edge of the image to make it pop a bit and then I added some sparkle with a Doodlebug Design sticker, punched two holes and used wire for a hanger.
I think she will love it.

Room Decor

My youngest daughter has been asking her Dad and I to do an update to her playroom. She is in high school now and hasn't set foot in the playroom for ages. After a couple of trips to IKEA and a few late nights putting things together she finally has the library of her dreams.
One of the things she bought at IKEA were four black frames. I decided to decorate a few of the frames for her to make the space a little more personal.
I started with one of my favorite bears from The Cat's Pajamas Rubber Stamps, PJ! He is so darn cute and I love the big sunflower he is holding. I kept the colors green and purple to go with the colors in the library. I added some seam binding along the bottom and finished it with the sentiment included in the stamp set.

Ready for Takeoff!

I can't believe it is September already. Summer sure did fly by, didn't it? Just last weekend we were stuck inside with no power due to hurricane Irene. That is about as close to camping as I get--you often forget how dependent you are on modern conveniences--you know electricity and plumbing!
I used another stamp from The Cat's Pajamas for this card. I am loving this latest release. I colored the bunny and his plane with copics and then added some spica glitter to the exhaust and propeller. I stamped the sentiment in brown ink and then layered it onto a solid piece of cardstock. I cut the image out with a Nestabilities die and then layered it onto some orange cardstock that I ran through my crimper. I just love the texture that it adds. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye. I love the burst of color the dots add. I hope you all had a great summer.
