First off I want to apologize for my absence. Seems like life has a way of interfering with even the best plans. I am by no means a super organized person (even though every year I promise myself I will try harder) and things are a bit messy right now and of course just when you think things are starting to fall into place...the monitor on the computer goes bad. (Thank goodness it is still under warranty) I am crossing my fingers that she will be fixed and back at home where she belongs over the weekend.
Anyhoo, I am sure you didn't come here to listen to my trials and tribulations!
This card is for my brothers upcoming birthday. The haystack and those adorable cows are from TE new Green Acres set. I love this set, such cute farm animals and sentiments too. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite. I simply tore the paper to create layers and add dimension. I added just a little bit of sparkle to the cow bells with a Copic Spica glitter pen. (Believe it or not the solid cardstock is actually yellow, to give the idea of sunlight, but the office scanner skewed the colors horribly).
Hope you all have a great Independence Day weekend and thanks so much for stopping by.

I am huge fan of Taylored Expressions and I am so glad that I am able to be a part of the blast from the past blog hop today.
I'll admit that Taylor's request to stick to red, white and blue had me thrown for a bit. I tried a couple of different things, but I finally settled on the birdhouse from the Cozy Cottages set. I am so glad that I did. Once I started coloring the idea for the card came together pretty quick. (I have a habit of over thinking things at times!!!)
I colored the bird house with copics and die cut the image out with a Nestabilities Labels 6 die. I set that aside and then used a TE die to cut out the picket fence. I sponged some Memento cocoa on the fence. I cut the little bits of grass using a MS punch. The patterned paper is from Basic Grey (Oliver). I decided to distress it a little bit and added some white paint to the edges of the card base as well as the patterned paper. (I didn't plan on the red paper turning pink, but it turned into a happy accident IMO.) I added some brown cardstock that I ran through my cuttlebug with the seeing spots folder and finished it off with some buttons.
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Best thing since sprinkles
This little cutie patootie is from the June release at There She Goes Stamps. I colored the image with copics and then cut it out with a Nestabilities circle die. I left the image in the die and drew a frame around it, leaving a space for some sparkle. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky. The sketch is an old one from Taylored Expressions, love the punched circles!
I stamped the sentiment on the inside and then added more of the punched circles for a pop of color.
Thanks for looking, have a great weekend!!!

You make me so very happy
In honor of my oldest daughter's upcoming wedding I have a scrapbook page today instead of a card. I finished 135 invitations and reception cards last week, still have to make 175-200 favors, but I really want to give her a scrapbook too. Sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day.
I want her to put candid shots in the book and will add pockets and folders on some pages for her to add details--picking the flowers, cake, bridesmaid dresses, you get the point. I will post more pages as I complete them and hope to show a completed book in a couple of weeks! This book is not meant to replace the formal photo album from the photographer, but more of a personal journal/scrapbook that she can write in and store ideas and thoughts in.
BTW in case you haven't guessed yet, my daughter and her future husband are both red heads, never colored red hair with copics before, think I even impressed myself a little bit here!!! I found the sentiment stamp in the dollar bin at M's and added some pearl stickles to the center of the flowers and the groom's hat and tie.

...Swing
This is actually my first attempt at a sentiment only card. It took me a little while to get it all laid out, but I am very happy with the final result. Will definitely try this again. The sentiment is from an old stamp set of quotes from kids that I had never even opened. I love the baseball reference and decided to try to keep it going with the hand drawn red stitching on the circle as well as my red and white bakers twine. I layered it onto some bright green cardstock cut with a Nestabilities die. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Fly a Kite. The aqua cardstock is embossed with a cuttlebug folder (think it is seeing spots but won't swear to it). The big red button and green rhinestones are from my stash.
Thanks for looking!
***This is my PCP color challenge week two project--would love it if you posted a project over there using red, white and bright green!!!***

Cupcakes anyone?
This cupcake cutie is from In Style Stamps. I stamped her and then colored her with copics. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Life of the Party (that's a mouthful, huh?) I added some baker's twine and a button topped flower.
For the inside of the card I stamped the image again and added the Happy Birthday sentiment.
This is actually my first project as the June hostess for the Paper Craft Planet Color Challenge Group. You can find all the details here.
