Super You!

I absolutely love the new stamps Christy has in her store at Tiddlyinks.com. She also has a great group on Paper Craft Planet. I knew as soon as I saw this super cute super hero I had to have her and for $3 for a digital download why not.
I have been looking at sketches online for a while and decided to try the latest one #110 at Taylored Expressions.
I used Bazzill solid cardstock and My Mind's Eye patterned paper. I colored the image with copics and then used a glitter pen on her wand and cape. Cut the image and sentiment out with Spellbinders Nestablilities. I layered the Super You! sentiment on a piece of fun foam for added texture.
Please leave a comment. Thanks!

Another Confirmation thank you

I used the Spotlight stamp set again on this second thank you card. I colored the image with Copics and layered it on a large scallop rectangle made of foam. I have seen foam appearing on other cards and handmade projects and like the added dimension it gives. It was easy to cut with a Nestabilities die in my Cuttlebug. I layered it with some patterned paper from the DCWV Songbird collection.

Confirmation thank you

My youngest daughter celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation over the weekend. I made a few thank you cards for her to send out for gifts received from family and friends.
This stamp is from The Greeting Farm, it is a set called Spotlight and I love it. Used copics to color her in, a large scallop nestabilities die and a Fiskars border bunch. Patterned paper is My Mind's Eye Home.

Another Birthday Card for Grace

In honor of Grace's first birthday I made a second card for my daughter Hannah to send to her. Hannah is not a big fan of pink (unlike her mom) so I used shades of orange and blue on this one.
I love the cake stamp from Whipper Snappers. I swear it looks good enough to eat!
I colored the image with Copic Markers and cut it out with a Nestablities large scallop die. Layered it onto a green scallop rectangle and added a layer of orange embossed with a Cuttle Bug swiss dots folder. The patterned paper is from a DCWV stack--sorry but I can't recall the name of it for the life of me! Added some ribbon and gems from my stash. What do you think?

Grace's First Birthday

Hard to believe but our beautiful granddaughter Grace is a year old today. Time truly does fly! In honor of her birthday I printed off this digital stamp from Tiddly Inks. I love Christie's images. I colored the image with Copic markers and then added some sparkle with some pink glitter to the frosting. I cut the image out with a Nestabilities Big Scallop die and layered it on to some of the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary paper. I finished it off with a pink bow. The card is almost as cute as Grace--almost!

First Communion Card

My sister's middle child is celebrating her First Holy Communion this weekend. I Wish that my family and I could be there with her but my daughter is celebrating her Confirmation this weekend as well. Since it is impossible to be in two places at once I sat down to attempt a card that reflects the significance of the occasion. I stamped part of the flower image from the Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings set with Memento Bamboo Leaves. I love this shade of green. Then I stamped the Lord's Prayer in Memento Tuxedo Black onto vellum and quickly set it with my heat gun. I layered the lighter green cardstock on top of the darker green, placed the vellum on top and then set the eyelets and threaded the ribbon. Then I attached the completed top to the card base. Eyelets and ribbon make it easy to attach the vellum without worrying about glue or adhesive showing through. I am not sure where I got the Lord's Prayer stamp, but I think it was a grab bag buy from My Sentiments Exactly but I won't swear to it.

Big Sister Card

In yesterday's post I showed a card I made celebrating the arrival of our new niece Camryn. Camryn was welcomed home by her big sister Delaney. I couldn't send a card for one of the girls and not the other so I made Delaney a card celebrating her new status as the big sister. I tucked a couple of sheets of stickers inside because everyone knows little girls love stickers, don't they?
Recipe:
Stamp is from The Greeting Farm (she looks like a big sister doesn't she?)
Colored with Copic Markers
Patterned paper is DCWV Songbird
Solid cardstock Bazzill
Sizzix embossing folder
Nestabilities Large Scallop die

New Baby in the Family!

It seems like weeks since I last posted, and from the looks of things it truly has been! Things around here have been a bit crazy lately, final exam at school, new boss at work, houseguests, trip to NJ for work on hubby's car, Easter and everyday life. Seems like I can hardly keep up some days. I am hoping to do better and to post on a much more frequent basis, keep your fingers crossed! My sister in law and her husband welcomed a new baby girl on St. Patrick's day. I made this card for Camryn Reese. Something about baby girls that just makes you ooh and aah! Pink is my favorite color so putting this together was a blast. I just love the baby hedgehog fast asleep with her teddy bear! Too cute!
Recipe:
Stamp from Penny Black
Colored with Copic markers
Patterned paper is from the Quite Contrary collection from My Mind's Eye
Solid cardstock is Bazzill
Sizzix embossing folder
Flower and button from my stash
