More Halloween Cuteness!!!

This is another card with my Count Dracula stamp. I used the flocking on his hair and again used onyx glitter on his cape.I cut the image and the green cardstock out with Nestabilities and sponged the edges with black ink. Then I ran the orange cardstock through my cuttlebug and added an orange heart brad to the black ribbon.
I think my nephew is going to love seeing him in his mailbox next month!
Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

More Halloween Cards

I have about a dozen Halloween cards to make this year. Most are going to kids or families so I'm trying to keep the images cute instead of scary.
This little witch is a digital stamp from Sassy Cheryl's. I colored her with copics and then added some sparkle to her dress and hat. Looks like she is ready for a night out!
Thanks for looking.

The Cutest Count Dracula

I found this cute little Count Dracula stamp in the dollar bin at Michael's. Something about him just screams cute instead of scary. Not sure if it is the teeth or the ears, but I am convinced he is much more interested in nibbling on a Snickers than an unsuspecting victim. Let's hope I'm right.
Anyways, I cut him out and layered him onto one of my new Nestabilities eyelet squares. I sponged black ink on all the corners and edges of the patterned paper to give it a little more dimension. I used glitter on his cape and applied black flocking to his hair.
Thanks for looking!

Candy Corn Cutie

Isn't she just the cutest? I fell in love with her the minute I saw her. Not sure if it is the hair or the happy fet and juggling that just reminded me of my girls. (My youngest swears you can never have too much candy corn, and if it is chocolate covered even better!) She is from Sassy Cheryl's digital stamps. I painted the edges of the card white with some distress paint (saw the technique on another blog...wish I remembered where). Then I decided to sponge the edges of the stamped image in black and roughed up the patterned paper a bit. I haven't tried this style very often, but I am really happy with the end results.

I even decided to decorate the inside of the card, I think it finishes it off perfectly.

Thanks for looking!

Halloween candy bag

Hard to believe but fall is just days away and before long kids will be running through the neighborhood begging for candy! As a kid, Halloween wasn't really that big of a deal, nowadays though it is huge. My teenage daughter absolutely loves Halloween, has always loved being able to dress up as everything from Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella, an angel and even a clown. Not sure what her plans are this year, think Mom is staying home while she goes with friends. Hoping she will save me a Snickers or two.
The idea for the bag is from Angie Kennedy Juda's SU website. I am sure you have heard of her and all of her great projects on her Chic 'n Scratch blog and website. actually used a Sizzix top notch die but I used a Nestabilities die and achieved the same effect. What makes this bag so cute and so very simple, is that the bag is actually a small craft bag glued in between the two green scalloped rectangles. Doesn't get much simpler than that!!!
Have a great day!!!

All about me

For a while now I have been really struggling with my blog and if finally dawned on me today the problem is the blog isn't all about me, it is about one part of my life...crafts. As much as I enjoy scrapbooking, rubber stamping and card making there are a few things I enjoy just as much (or more...i.e. family) and keep me just as busy. Lots of crafters have blogs that show off a new card or project or product every day or so... I tried that but it just doesn't work for me.
Starting today my blog is going to change, I am sure some will love it and others may not but I am focusing on "my blog" and want it to more truly reflect who I am.
I am not a real cutesy person, I am an honest, upfront, tell the truth even if it hurts sometimes type of person. I love to watch tv, try to top hubby's top score on solitaire (on my I-pod none the less), bake and read.
So no more apologies for my inconsistent postings; keep an eye out for more recipes, opinions, pics and general ramblings...things important to me!

some things about me you didn't know before
-love diet coke, hate pepsi
-would give up dinner for dessert
- think we all need to work fewer hours and spend more time with family
- think everyone should take a nap (young or old) can you imagine how happy we would all be if we took naps??? If a two hour nap can adjust the attitude of a 2 year old imagine what it would do for a 40 something, stressed out, overworked, underpaid adult
- love the color pink
- wish we could pick our neighbors
- watch way too much tv
- love to snuggle with my hubby after a long day
- wish I were the type of mom that encouraged her kids to jump in the puddles after the rain
- want to go to Hawaii
- can't believe that my kids turned out so great

Well there you have it, me, not all of me but much more than you have seen lately. Hope you will enjoy the changes, leave a comment and let me know.
Have a great weekend!
