Birthday Card and tin

Yep, it's another adorable image from by Lori Designs. This is Annie and she has a balloon and birthday cake. I colored the image with copics, added some Flower Soft to the polka dots and the shoes and then cut it out. I layered the image onto a blue mat cut with my deckled rectangle Nestabilitie die. I inked the edges of the green cardstock and then layered it onto some solid brown. I used three different patterned papers from My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Hattie collection. I used a die for the pennants added some twine and finished it off with a few buttons. The tin is perfect for a little extra birthday treat or even a gift card. I put a band of solid brown cardstock around it and then secured it with a velcro dot. I used more of the Hattie collection papers and used a TE die for the balloons. To add some dimension I inked the edges of the balloons with brown ink and adhered with pop dots. More twine to finish it off.
I was not real convinced with the idea of challenges at first, but now I am truly enjoying them. Kind of makes me think out of the box a bit and use colors I may not have thought of using together, and best of all gives me a good reason to spend some time crafting! Doesn't get much better!

Ella....again

No you are not seeing double. I am
posting another card using the Ella
image from by Lori Designs. In keeping with the challenge colors this week I colored her in blue and then cut the image out. I layered her onto pink card stock cut with a Nestabilities die and then added some faux stitches with a white pen. It is really hard to tell but I also added a bit of machine stitching to the patterned paper. I used an open scallop border punch and highlighted with some pink rhinestones and then added three squares of patterned paper along the bottom to add more of the suggested colors for the challenge.
Thanks for looking and for some instant gratification, stop by Lori's and grab a Lollipop or two.

Ella

This little polka dot cutie is another adorable image from Lori Boyd.
I colored her with copics and then added some enamel accents to her shoes. I embossed my green card stock with my new seeing spots cuttlebug folder. Think it goes with the dots on her dress and bow perfectly. A little machine stitching and a pink ribbon to finish her off.

Lacie the school girl

This little cutie is all ready for school. She even has an apple for the teacher! She is another adorable image from By Lori Designs. I made this card for Lori's weekly challenge. I am not great at challenges--not sure if it the rules involved or just the deadlines--but I'm trying. I like that Lori's are simple, the last few have just been color challenges; good way to use colors together you may not have thought of.
Anywho...I colored Lacie with copics and then added just a little sparkle to her apple. I used a Nestabilities die to cut the image out and then layered it onto solid blue and green card stock. The patterned paper is from a pile on my desk and the ribbon and buttons are from my stash.
This little lady will be in the mail this week to a family member who was just accepted in a private Catholic high school with a well deserved partial scholarship to boot.

Something New

I came across a new digital stamp site by accident last week and immediately fell in love. They are from Lori Boyd and you can find them at her store by Lori Designs .
I picked out two "lollipops" that I just couldn't resist, helps that they are named Hannah and Gracie--my daughter and granddaughter's names.
I used Gracie for this card and decided to use the colors in the By Lori Designs challenge; red, yellow, brown and beige. I came across this flower paper in my stash it is from My Mind's Eye Garden Party collection. I added a strip of red cardstock along the bottom, added rectangles in the matching colors and used some of my new twine from The Cat's Pajamas to attach a button. I cut the image out leaving a little white border along the edge and then layered her onto another strip of red cardstock.
If you have a chance, stop by Lori's store, nothing like digital stamps for instant gratification!
